Hi supporters! Monday's Planning Board meeting went well! We had a great turn out of loyal supporters and the Planning Board seems to have accepted the Right to Farm Law and Ag and Markets Protections, defining our right to grow unique ingredients, make beer, and sell them at our taproom! Although they declined to operate under Expedited Site Plan Review (a 45 day review period with no public hearing - we are 32 days into that review period) as suggested by Ag and Markets, they have decided enough information was provided to hold a Public Hearing - scheduled for 7:01 PM on 12/16!
Although we aren't done fighting the good fight we consider this a positive outcome! At the last two planning board meetings, the board allowed for over an hour each of public comments and it was stated that "the applicant has supplied sufficient followup information to those questions and comments" - so while our opponents will be vocal, we are prepared!
We are hoping that by providing almost a month notice that we can generate a large turnout of supporters at the 12/16 Public Hearing! We will be hosting a collaborative information session at a local brewery in the coming weeks and will send an update when the date and time is confirmed! This is a great opportunity to put a face to a name and learn about our ground-to-glass farm brewery!
