Seeking support from Franklin residents who have been negatively impacted by CSX freight train running from 11 PM-3 AM on "abandoned" tracks. Many Franklin residents have mentioned hearing train horns at hours that extend beyond MBTA scheduled times. This is due to the re-opening of a warehouse on Grove street that has access to railroad tracks that run through Franklin. A few major concerns: -Tracks that the freight trains are running on have not been used for 15+ years. -New homes, such as my home, which was built 6 years ago, were sold under the realtor’s disclosure that the tracks were abandoned. It was stated that those tracks were blue-printed to become a bike trail. -Most back yards that line the tracks are not fenced. -Home owners, like me and neighbors, were never made aware of the "re-opening" of these tracks. Despite the fact that owner’s property value will certainly decrease as a result of the tracks being reopened, it is more upsetting having the train running at unreasonable hours and without any discussion for town residents.
