PLEASE SHOW UP ON THURSDAY! WE NEED YOU!

Hello friends! We need everyone possible to attend the OWASA board meeting on Thursday at 7pm at the Chapel Hill Town Hall building. We are going to comment on agenda item #7 regarding the process OWASA will implement to review the fluoridation policy, beginning in 2020. We would like folks to make statements that they want it to not be delayed until 2020 (& WHY?!?!) and that they not just continue the status quo and calling it a "review" when all they are doing is continuing to do what the CDC, ADA, and US Public Health Service endorse. Until now, that is what they do - just check the websites of those organizations to see if they are still endorsing the practice and then continuing on down the path with the backing of those big guys. We know this is not the way to go, so we need to show up and say so! We are requesting that each person: 1) SHOW UP! BRING FRIENDS! 2) EACH MUST SIGN IN AT THE FRONT DOOR TO SPEAK ON ITEM #7 3) Again, you must sign in at the front door because if you only show up and sit in the audience, your voice won't be heard and it will be as if you weren't there at all. We appreciate the moral support, but really need OWASA to hear all of the voices that are with us! 4) Begin by saying "My name is ________________ and I do not give OWASA permission to add fluoride to my water." 5) Followed by "This is a community driven board, but I don't believe you've been listening to the concerns of the community surrounding adding hydrofluorosilicic acid (fluoride) to our water supply." 6) Say whatever else you wish to say, if anything, then end with the same as you began: "My name is ______________ and I do not give OWASA permission to add fluoride to my water." Please keep sharing our petition and make sure to bring friends and family to the meeting on Thursday. And let them know what to say! Thank you all so much! Daria
