The Folkestone Owl rescue sanctuary has been running for 28 years. It was originally run out of the owner, Brian Maxteds money and is still run in his garden with help from a team of volunteers. we care for over 40 owls that have been injured in the wild or rehomed from other zoos and sanctuaries. The picture shows some of the Tawny owls that have a visual impairment that would mean they will not survive in the wild. However as of late it has been running off of the generous donations made by the public when visiting the sanctuary or during a display In Folkestone town centre on Thursdays and Saturdays. We have been in the same spot in town for 20 years and have now been told we have to move to another spot and pay £50 per day to use it. Now this is the problem since we only just make enough money to home the owls. This means if we spend money to get a spot in town the owl sanctuary will most likely have to close down and the over 40 owls we care for will be destroyed. So can you please sign this petition to show the council how important the owl sanctuary is and the impact the fee will have on the owls.
