I'm closing this petition. We have gotten the support of 1700+ supporters. For a small town whose voter roll is approximately 4500, thats over a 1/3 of our voters who have interest in this. I feel like this speaks the thoughts in this petition both loudly and clearly. We have not formally achieved "VICTORY" . Yes, the hotel project that was under contract has been dropped. Unfortunately that just leaves the property open to the "unknown" developer. We simply have no idea who might purchase this and for what purpose. No matter though, at least the Town Board will understand the ground swell of support for a community minded business and a wish to keep what little green space we have in town, left green. You can follow along as that will be the most up to date information as I get it. In addition, I am forming a nonprofit and am at work on a plan of purchase. I think its viable. Short story is it includes the meadow staying forever wild and the front existing buildings offering art studios and residencies to the local community.
