Thank you all for your support and solidarity!
❤️ Last Thursday the community turned up and turned out.
🪧100s of people rallied outside Tower Hamlets Town hall to back the Domestic violence advisors (IDVA’s) at Solace Women’s Aid.
TODAY UVW’s IDVA members met with Solace bosses for talks mediated by ACAS. Talks were productive and we made progress, but fell short of reaching a resolution to suspend strike action.
We reconvene tomorrow morning.
The clock is ticking…only 4 days until our brave IDVA’s start indefinite strike action.
We once again call on Tower Hamlet council and Solace women’s aid to work together to suspend the redundancy process and engage in urgent talks to reach a resolution that ensures:
✅ No reduction in domestic violence services in Tower Hamlets
✅ No job losses
✅ Permanent contracts for staff
✅ Recognition of UVW as the union representing IDVAs
