One week on

We launched this petition last Monday, so here's a quick summary of the first week of our campaign: - we now have 1,067 supporters from all over the world - hundreds of comments and memories posted on the campaign web page; - petition mentioned on the Spitalfields Life blog by 'the gentle author'; - we feature in current Nooks and Corners column by 'Piloti' in Private Eye; - a leaflet and poster campaign aimed planned for next weekend - a Times Literary Supplement blog about the campaign goes live today This is all very encouraging, but let's not count our chickens. We need many more signatures to build our case. Can we double the figure this week? Can we triple it?
