Hey Fellow Leafs Fan,

We are in the dog days of the NHL season and for whatever reason, Auston Matthews and William Nylander are still not back together on the same line. It has been well over a month since the two last played together consistently and since then, Nylander has been playing some of his best hockey of the season while Matthews is heating up. These two players are at their best when paired together, and not so much when apart.

As good as Patrick Marleau was during his prime, he is now in the twilight of his career and has mostly dragged down Matthews at both ends of the ice. He should be rekindling his chemistry with Nazem Kadri, not holding back Matthews of his true potential. Nylander has been slowly getting back his mojo after his contract holdout ate up over two months of the season, but he is now playing like the player we have come to expect and is even taking over games both with and without the puck.

Many Leafs fans have been pleading for Matthews and Nylander to be reunited because it makes too much sense and will only bring nothing but positives to the Leafs lineup. With the playoffs around the corner and Toronto likely facing either the Boston Bruins or the Montreal Canadiens in the first round, right now is the prime opportunity to get these two critical aspects of the Leafs core back together so they can get terrorize opponents like they have the previous two seasons and build up more confidence down the stretch. We don't care if Andreas Johnsson or Kasperi Kapanen is the third option on that line; we simply want Matthews and Nylander back on the same line as soon as possible.

I don't know how this will turn out but if you feel that this move needs to be made, then be sure to sign the petition and share it with other Leafs fans who may feel the same way. Even if it doesn't work, at least we'll get an idea as to how many people want Matthews and Nylander on the same line.
