Many of the students are aware of the poor quality washroom facilities in Marc Garneau CI. Students feel insecure using these facilities and go to the extent of not using the washrooms entirely. On the First floor, none of the stall doors work in the boys washroom and toilet paper is rarely available. On the second floor, 1 of the stalls is out of service and another one missing an entire door. This issue does not only affect the boys washrooms. Stalls are covered in foul graffiti, toilet paper is almost always missing, sinks are dysfunctional, there is almost always an unpleasant odour and the soap is unsanitary. Washrooms should be safe and free to use by students, not to be avoided of and having students resort to other washrooms outside of school.
