The Toowoomba Councillors will vote on DHA’s proposed 50-lot development application next Wednesday, 16 September 2020. The Council’s Planning Department has recommended to the Council that it Vote Yes to this 50-lot development even though it is surrounded on one side by escarpment designated as “very high and high potential bushfire intensity”.

The 50-lot housing development will encroach on the native escarpment bushland and wildlife that calls Mt Lofty home. DHA will have to create a fire trail around the development by bulldozing native trees and destroying wildlife.

SML opposes this proposed 50-lot development and requests John McVeigh MP intervene and demand DHA remove its development application with Council. Please contact him on the following numbers and email:

John McVeigh MP:
Toowoomba Office: (07) 46-324-144
Canberra Office: (02) 6277-4277
Email: john.mcveigh.mp@aph.gov.au

Please call and email the Councillors who will vote on the development application next Wednesday 16 September.
