If US Development Academy players are not chosen fairly, it hurts US Soccer in the long run.  Players who would otherwise have made the team are not chosen to make room for the kids of club personnel who make the team without a fair tryout.  This happens in many MLS and non-MLS DAP clubs, most recently at the New England Revolution as highlighted in this blog: http://www.talking-soccer.com/TS4/showthread.php?t=117462

DAP and alll DAP clubs hold their players to a high standard.  But there seems to be a disparity between the standard they hold their players to and the standard they hold themselves to.
