Our 25,000+ signatures have just been hand-delivered to Bill Shorten, Tanya Plibersek and Adam Bandt’s offices by our supporters in their respective electorates, asking that they demand Tony Abbott produce his British Citizenship renunciation form when Parliament resumes this week. If Abbott has one, there’s nothing to hide, and if he doesn’t he has illegally entered Parliament and may be disqualified and liable for his pay and entitlements, and penalties. This is irrespective of whether he is PM or a mere backbencher, and no leadership spill will stop this campaign. It’s time our MP’s uphold the Constitution and finally ask this simple question in Parliament. If we don't uphold our founding laws, then what's the point in making new ones? In the past week, Sky News and the UK Daily mail have both run with the story of Abbott’s British Citizenship, and Labor MP Terri Butler has written to Tony Abbott asking him to produce his renunciation form (for links to articles, please follow the link to our Facebook page below). To be absolutely clear, "birthers" are hateful right-wing racists who don't believe Obama's birth certificate. Different. Issue. Entirely. The time for our MP's dodging this issue on "policy focus" grounds is over. If they can afford to give leadership rumblings "focus" then they can certainly spare a few minutes to ask this ONE SIMPLE QUESTION to Abbott in Parliament. In an age of knights and pawns, we should not have to ASK MP's to REPRESENT US. Over to you Bill, Tanya and Adam. Your people are waiting, and we will not stop until Abbott provides his renunciation form. (NB.
