A Fraser Island dingo cull could completely wipe out the population, conservationists have warned in the wake of the ferocious attack on an 14-month-old boy on Friday morning.
Instead, people should be restricted to staying behind dingo-proof fences around the resort, township and campgrounds to keep them away from the animals and free from risk.
Calls for culls have followed the terrifying attack in which a father fought off several dogs to wrench his son from a dingo's mouth early on Friday morning.
