Our petition was reported as part of an article documenting opposition to Reed's support for the Republican's recent "repeal and replace" legislation. Great work everyone! Make sure you attend one of the Town Halls this weekend (Ithaca @8a, Ovid @10.30a, Manchester @12.30p, and Pulteney @3p) to personally let Reed know your opposition to Trumpcare. It's more important than ever now that we know the details of the Republican plan. According to the Washington Post, nearly 14 million people will lose health care coverage if Trumpcare passes. The Republican plan covers fewer people, raises premiums on older Americans by implementing an age tax, increases the deficit, gives tax breaks to Americans making more than $1 million dollars annually, and lines the pockets of insurers. This law is not just bad, it's murderous. Go to the Town Halls, call Reed's office, write letters: let your voices be heard! Tell him his politics have a body count and we will not be complicit in the disenfranchisement of over 14 million of our fellow citizens.
