STATEMENT OF BAY MARK AND CONTRA COSTA SUPERVISOR JOHN GIOIA REGARDING THE BAART BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER RELOCATION PLANS Supervisor John Gioia recently sent a letter to BayMark opposing its permit application to the City of Richmond to locate its Behavioral Health and Wellness Center to 3563 San Pablo Dam Rd. in the El Sobrante Valley. After discussions between Supervisor Gioia and BayMark, they have agreed to work together in an expeditious and collaborative manner to locate another more suitable site in West Contra Costa County that better accommodates the needs of the neighboring community and BayMark’s West County patients. The primary care medical services and drug treatment services provided by BayMark are an indispensable part of helping our West County neighbors and residents who suffer from substance abuse issues. These patients deserve quality and accessible medical services to assist them in their pursuit of a drug-free and productive life.
