This latest shutting down of our rights to further acquire public records, Freedom of Information Act rights, just confirms how dug in this small-town government truly is to making things happen the way THEY want, no matter the rules of law.
I can't help but think about the darkest moments on the battlefield; lives being lost, limbs being taken, and the minds of our young men and women being assaulted with massive stresses that would live with them for the rest of their lives, and more. All that for the continued preservation of our Blessed Constitution.
What I believe just happened this week is that Jill Logan, the county attorney, further used her powers to deny us constitutional rights because I delivered 862 signed e-petitions while my son recorded for proof of delivery, but in Jill’s words, “filming the staff’s reaction”.
This is the ONLY time I have ever recorded anything in the courthouse building to date, which is not a violation of law!
First Amendment: "it guarantees an individual's right to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Furthermore, "The right to petition government for redress of grievances is the right to make a complaint to, or seek the assistance of, one's government, without fear of punishment or reprisals."
