Hello all you wonderful Smokers & Smoker Friends
On Friday 24 July, the second of two organized peaceful protests, which aimed to take a stand against the current regulations that are creating hardships and damage to the hospitality industry, was met with stun grenades and water cannons outside Parliament.
The #ServeUsPlease protest called on those affected to stand together against restrictive lockdown regulations. Protesters were asked to create a human “chain” of sorts (while adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols) with ribbon-linked lines running along main streets all over the country.
Yet they were attacked, arrested, thrown in Police vans
In August 2020 a peaceful protest against Gender Based Violence ended badly as well. The atmosphere turned from peaceful to threatening, then suddenly police threw a grenade that filled the street with green smoke, scattering protesters.
So, this is how peaceful citizens are treated exercising their democratic right to peacefully protest against the crippling regulations and violence against our woman and children, for which you've provided no relief?
Yet the EFF, known for their violence and incitement and their hatred of white farmers are given permission to protest outside a school where our children are, exposing them to violence and disrupting classes and exams AND now the media are actually sympathising with the EFF because parents retaliated??
Cyril Ramaphosa, you never cease to amaze me with your deliberate and intentional condoning of these terrorist organisations in our country. You turn a blind eye by NOT having government representation at these (crime scenes) protests.
The ANC have supported the EFF from day one, regardless of the consequences and are as guilty, if not more so, than the EFF.
I am not only disgusted that our government can allow such hatred, racism and division in our already fragile country, but I sense they thrive on this. It takes eyes off the corruption and looting that is never ending.

RAMAPHOSA JOINS EFF IN CALLING FOR HIGH SCHOOL RACISM PROBE
The entire incident has now garnered some presidential intervention: Cyril Ramaphosa has defended the EFF, saying that they had a right to peacefully protest. The head of state slammed those who sparked a physical clash, saying that their actions ‘undermine the very principles of South African democracy’:
We are no longer your sheep Mr President! Please do not think the majority of South Africans haven’t woken up to your agenda. You and your government undermine the South African democracy!!!
