Letter to His Excellency, President Cyril Ramaphosa,
Please find attached a letter from South Africans who love this country and all the people who live here.
We are committed to building a nation that is free, strong, economically sound, and that upholds the letter and spirit of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
We are not ‘power players’ but ordinary people who have come together to defend and uphold the greatest inheritance bequeathed to this country.
The Madiba Legacy is what holds us together and will enable us to endure in these difficult times.
We trust that you will read this in the spirit in which it is intended, and that you will take to heart the cry of your people for a future that realizes the unlimited potential that could be released when we stand and work in unity, firmly anchored in what is right, ethical, equitable, and just.
A Concerned Citizen

Please realise that it is not only about lifting the tobacco products ban. It’s ironical that this should be the platform that best highlights the sweeping disregard for our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The letter contains fundamental principles that apply going forward to issues of police and army brutality, the critical lack of food security, inadequate healthcare facilities, other minority groups, corruption, fundamental abuse of human and constitutional rights, a collapsed economy and the entrenchment of black-market suppliers, and a host of other devastating impacts we face as a nation.
We have not lost sight of those and believe that this particular example highlights each and every one.
Finally, to clarify, the initiator of this campaign has chosen to do so simply as A Concerned Citizen.
This is to avoid any semblance of personal gain and ensure that nothing detracts from the real message:
Uphold the Madiba Legacy
As our President has said, it’s in our hands now. Like all endeavours, it must start somewhere, and that is with us
Happy Campaigning
Yours against the fight against the tobacco ban
