REAL MEN DON'T EAT DOG! It may be a small percentage of the population of South Korea, but big enough that thousands of dogs are slaughter weekly for food consumption. What our members have witnessed this past week, will forever change their lives. A culture of people who feel that eating dog meat enhances their virility, their stamina and keeps them cool in hot months. The conditions that these dogs live in are beyond barbaric. Crammed into small cages. Small breed dogs are used for broth, while the larger ones are cooked for their meat, many skinned alive. Guardian members are currently at the meat market purchasing dogs and getting them to a makeshift shelter in South Korea. We will be flying home this week with 4 dogs from that tiny shelter. It is a drop in the bucket but 4 lives will be free, and 4 more can be saved. The big picture and goal is to educate the generations yet to come, to work with lawmakers in Korea and to educate the people who are farming these animals in horrific conditions. Partnering with like minded citizens of Korea, we can bring change to this age old custom of slaughtering man's best friends. On a Saturday night while we sit in our living rooms with our companion animals, thousands just like them are being tortured. How can we turn our backs to this? We can't…can you?
