"Medicines that have been approved in the United States or Europe will be fast-tracked into the Australian market under new medicine regulations to be introduced by the federal government." What this basically means is, if a drug is approved for use in either the USA, Europe or the UK then drug companies won't have to jump through as many hoops to get it approved for use in Australia. Therefore we will get internationally available approved drugs into Australia quicker - but this does not mean they will go on the PBS. Whilst this is a great move, and the Turnbull government should rightly be congratulated, it does NOT mean we get trials funded, or that these drugs will get to be put on the PBS.
