A few days ago, our VSC Committee (Vintage & Special-Interest Collectible committee), the sponsors of the petition to the Minister on collectible vehicles, sent out an email asking everyone to make a submission to rules@nzta.govt.nz before the 4 April deadline asking the Minister of Transport to expand the proposed rule change from annual WOF for 40+ year-old cars to what we ask in the petition. We included our email, vscnz2025@gmail.com, but of the 8.800+ signatures, we did not hear from anyone, making us wonder if the update went through.

If you are getting these updates, all good. But to close the loop, would you pop us an email to: vscnz2025@gmail.com when you make your submission?

We will be submitting the petition with the 8,800+ signature on it, and a second submission with the 500 comments, but personal submissions from you carry a lot more weight.

The 4 April submission deadline is not the end; it's the beginning. Let's try to get to 10,000 signatures and we will keep updating the Minister for Transport on the interest this issue is generating. 

This is a policy recommendation (comes from the elected officials) not a regulatory recommendation (coming from NZTA), so keep reminding the elected officials this is an issue of importance to you.
