Dear Supporter

Thank you for signing this petition to raise awareness of the issue.  With more than 1,000 signatures we think this is a change that will be welcomed by many people, farmers and animal lovers alike.

After some effort we have managed to get permission for publication of our Parliamentary  petition (https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/651314)

If we can get 10,000 signatures the government will respond.  If we can get 100,000 signatures we should be able to get the matter debated.  From speaking with some MPs that support reform steps are being taken to raise the matter as a 10-Minute Bill in the near future.  Obviously, the greater the public support, the more likely this might result in some real change.

Please sign the Parliamentary Petition and share with as many people as possible.  Let's see if we can get to 100,000!

Please also write to your MP asking them to support the 10-Minute Bill and the reform:

Dear [Add your MP's name]

I understand that there are plans to debate amendment of the Dogs(Protection of Livestock) Act 1953, to remove the protection provided to Packs of Hounds by the 1981 amendment, should they worry sheep on agricultural land.

I believe that this exemption is archaic, unjust and inequitable because, compared with other dog owners like you or I, it places those persons operating packs of Hunting hounds; dogs specifically trained to chase, attack and kill any animal they find, above the law.

I have signed the petition asking Parliament to debate this matter. It is my wish that you represent my wishes and support amendment of this Act as well as any actions taken to achieve this aim.

Your sincerely
