Friday Calls Matter! Disappointment Today Means Our Voices Need to Get Louder!

Friends - Today was a terrible day. It's really that simple. Not only are we getting scraps at the funding table this year, but OVERFUNDED districts are getting EVEN MORE FUNDING. The Department of Education released initial aid numbers this afternoon. Cherry Hill is only getting an increase of $596,329. Instead of our FAIR FUNDING level of $29m, we will be getting half of this amount. We are seeing this inconsequential increase while grossly overfunded Jersey City will see an increase of $1,863,714. Washington Twp. gets another $1M on top of their already overfunded amounts. This is completely unacceptable! We need to call again and let our leaders know that this is NOT OK! Remember to tell your story as you demand ACTION. What do YOU want for YOUR kids and YOUR town? What needs to be fixed in YOUR school or YOUR neighborhood? We're supposed to get $29m each year from the State. When is it coming?? WILL YOU MAKE THE CALL? We need a better tomorrow for our kids and for our town. Asm. Steve Sweeney 856-261-9801 (We need him to work with our local and State leadership immediately to rectify the wrong the governor is proposing.) And remember to keep SHARING the petition with neighbors, friends and family! We're in this together. Last year, we received an extra $1m after NJ DOE released their numbers. To get our FAIR SHARE, we will need AN ADDITIONAL $14.5M this year. We must fight even through our exasperation. Our students and our town are depending on us. WILL YOU MAKE THE CALL?
