We, the numerous group of the expatriates living in Thailand, appeal to you to forbid catching and encaging sparrows and other birds for the purpose of profit-making out of their release.

This practice is extremely inhumane and cruel towards birds.

Hundreds of birds are put in small cages where they almost lie on each other without having an opportunity to spread their wings.
They suffer multiple injuries after which many birds even after their release are not able to fly.
Thailand is much more ahead of the neighbors in South-East Asia in the humane relation to animals. The Thai people are kind and have sympathy for animals, and this practice taints the image of Thailand.

Please forbid encaging sparrows and other birds for the purpose of money-making out of their release.
