Premier Daniel Andrews and Minister for Police Lisa Neville joined Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton and Police Association Secretary Ron Iddles at the Victoria Police Centre to sign an historic agreement that will see another 2,729 police recruited over four years. In addition to that, The Government today proclaimed four new offences – carjacking, aggravated carjacking, home invasion and aggravated home invasion – to give police the laws they need to keep the community safe. The new show cause provisions will apply regardless of the age of the offender.
