A MAN attacked with an axe in his Malvern East home is fighting for his life after five men broke into his house this morning. The 24-year-old man was struck with an axe at his Capon St home at 11:30am before being rushed to hospital with critical injuries. Victoria Police spokeswoman Kendra Jackson said after the brutal aggravated burglary, the men jumped into a getaway car parked in a nearby street and sped off. Police are now patrolling the area in an attempt to track down the attackers.
