!!!WHEN WILL THIS STOP, WHEN WILL COMMUNITY FEEL SAFE!!! === A MERCEDES owner had his $70,000 vehicle stolen at gunpoint in a terrifying carjacking in the car park of Chadstone shopping centre yesterday. Southern Metro Regional Crime Team detectives are investigating the incident, which happened at the Dandenong Rd shopping centre just after midnight. It is believed the gunman being hunted by police is of African appearance. The victim, a 39-year-old Oakleigh man, had pulled up outside the entrance to a supermarket at the centre when a dark coloured sedan pulled in behind him. A man then jumped out of the vehicle armed with a gun and told the victim to hand over his car keys. “The victim gave the man his keys and the offender drove off in the victim’s 2016 Mercedes station wagon registered AIM 840 and valued at $70,000,” Victoria Police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady said. Investigators believe there were two other occupants in the dark coloured sedan at the time.
