Theft Watch's Jun 16 published report reflects 26% increase in stolen vehicle in VIC as compared to last 12 month. This is a huge spike, and urgent actions required to control and reduce it.
ABC news 29/6: Convicted carjackers could be sentenced to up to 25 years in jail under new laws proposed by the Victorian Government. Police Minister Lisa Neville said the move was appropriate after a spate of recent carjackings in Melbourne's south-east.
We hope this consideration is changed from "could be charged" to "will be charged" for safe community and take some pressure off our hardworking police force.
