Follwing the news articles upon MP Joani Reids return to Parliment and questions she raised -
"We welcome and support Joani Reid MP’s call in Parliament to end the glamorisation of knives on social media. This is a crucial first step in what must be a broader, sustained effort to tackle knife crime at its root. Real change will only come through meaningful prevention—understanding why young people are carrying knives in the first place and addressing the fear, trauma, and lack of safety they often experience in their communities.
As I’ve repeated several times, we — and I personally — stand firmly, strongly, and in full solidarity with the mother and father of young Kayden Moy, who was the victim of a horrendous attack. Other than our unwavering support for the family, we wish the full weight of the justice system to be applied and look forward to justice being served. We cannot comment further on an active police investigation.
We have also appointed Kasey our Director Of Communications & Media Relations
Director Kasey said during her appointment spoke "In May, my 16-year-old nephew, Kayden, was murdered. He was full of life, cheeky, loving, and so full of potential. Losing him shattered everything. But I couldn’t let it stop there. I didn’t have to step into this — I wanted to, because it’s personal, and because I believe it matters. I didn’t want the pain to just sit and grow. I wanted to turn it into something that could mean something. Something that could help someone. Something that could honour him."
