Anstruther Library and Community Cafe News

 

Fife Council have reiterated today that Education Services required the use of the community space within the Waid Campus in order to operate safely to protect the school community. We believe that on doing so the needs of the wider community have not been considered and alternative options were not explored by the Education Service or Communities Department. We regret the fact that they have failed to communicate openly with the community and have overlooked our needs.

Moving forward, we are pleased to let you know that providing there are no new covid measures introduced, the community facilities will be returning to normal pre-pandemic service from week beginning 18th April (Library Service, Community Cafe and Fife Council Customer Service Point). Additional Saturday opening hours will be put in place from the end of May. The proposal by Fife Council is to open the library every 4th Saturday but we are hopeful the service could be effectively be provided every Saturday.

The Library will also be opening during the Easter Holiday on 5th & 6th April, and 12th & 13th April from 9:30am - 4:30pm for general browsing. Fife Council also committed to consider further opening hours during the Easter Brake.
