Thank you for signing the 'Trade Unionists for a New Party' petition, which has now gathered over 2000 signatures.

As I mentioned in the last update, the Zoom meeting on the 21st of July was a tremendous success. More than 1,000 trade union activists attended from across a broad range of unions. My thanks to all those who came along.

Since that meeting, Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana’s declaration for the new Your Party has attracted huge support, with over 700,000 signatories (you can sign up here).

As I promised at the July meeting, I have now arranged follow-up meetings for members of the respective unions to discuss some concrete steps that can be taken within each union to campaign for trade unionists and trade unions to be at the heart of a new party. The first five meetings will be:

Unite - Thursday, 7th August 6:30 pm Register here

CWU - Monday, 11th August 6:30 pm Register here

UCU - Thursday, 14th August 6:30 pm Register here

Unison - Monday, 18th August 6:30 pm Register here

NEU - Monday, 18th August 7:30 pm Register here

Please only register for the union of which you are a member. The meetings are for members to discuss practical steps they can take. Meetings are being organised for other unions, including PCS, RMT, GMB, and USDAW - details coming soon.

I hope you can join us at your union's meeting. Feel free to forward this email and invitation to other union members. Also, please use the sharing tools on the Change.org petition to inform more trade unionists about our work.

Many thanks.

In solidarity,
Dave Nellist
