My issues with TikTok began a few months ago when I made a stitch video with a Trump supporter. My video was shared on a conservative alt-right group, where many members decided to go onto my page and harass + mass report me. Since then, I’ve received several violent and threatening messages, had over a dozen videos removed for “violating guidelines,” and been blocked from posting for a full week 3 different times.

What struck me the most about many of these “violations” is that it often involved me responding to/calling out a cisgender, straight, white creator who was posting actual harmful content. This ranges from them spewing extreme homophobia to misinformation about covid or election fraud. In each of these instances, my content was pulled, where the other creators were not penalized at all.

TikTok has proven to me again and again that if you are a minority creator and you don’t have enough mainstream appeal, they do not prioritize you when things like this happen. My content continues to get pulled for no reason, most of my appeals are declined, and I still have yet to be given any legitimate information from customer service as to why.
