Opposition by Local Elected Leaders Growing! Please Join Sign-On Letter to Governor!

Save Bren MarFairfax County, VA, United States
Aug 7, 2026

Building upon the momentum of having nearly every elected official who represents the Plaza 500 site or will be impacted by it we are asking each of you as residents (or as an organization) to add your name to a letter to Governor Spanberger asking her to publicly call for the Edsall Data Center Substation to be denied.

The goal of this letter is to get the Governor on the record for this cross-jurisdiction issue and put the pressure on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors not to undo a denial by the Planning Commission but making it as unpopular as possible. It will also put pressure on Dominion and the data center developer, Starwood Capital Group, to abandon this substation proposal.

ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LETTER

Please join your neighbors in sending a letter to Governor Spanberger asking for her public support in denying the Edsall Data Center Substation 2232 Application.

The Edsall Data Center Substation is the poster child for the Governor's recent action calling on data center developers to pay for substations and transmission lines that their energy needs create and the Governor's intervention in Dominion's merger with with Next Era. Both of these policies are designed to protect us as residents for exactly this type of substation and transmission line proposal.

Please join us in asking Gov. Spanberger to join Rep. Beyer, Del. Watts, Mason Supervisor Jimenez, and the Alexandria City Council and Mayor in calling on the Planning Commission to deny the Edsall Data Center Substation Application.

Please share this broadly with your friends, neighbors, and contacts.

The deadline to sign-on is Sunday, August 9 at 11:59pm.

Thank you!
