"Stubhub - An Ebay Company" is shockingly encouraging members of the public to visit blood-soaked bullrings in Spain and Mexico, describing the brutal display of animal cruelty as a "beautifully intense portrayal of life and death".

It goes on to shamefully say that "watching a bullfight should be experienced once in your life" and that "this sport represents the symbol of Spanish courage and bravery that has grown to be an enormous attraction to thousands of tourists".

Bullfighting - condemned by animal rights groups all around the world - subjects each of its thousands of victims to the most horrific of suffering. Each bullfight involves the slow torture to death of six or more bulls.
The terror starts behind the scenes, before the "fight", when the bull is severely handicapped. Cotton wool is stuffed into his nose to hamper breathing, vaseline is smeared into his eyes to blur vision and his horns are often painfully filed down to distort his sense of direction. The worst is yet to come. Once in the arena, horseback riders weaken the bull by stabbing the neck and shoulders with long, sharp lances.
Then, to make the bull lower his head into a charging pose, six hooked spears are forcefully driven into his neck muscles. The cruelty culminates with a fatal stabbing through the heart with a sword. Afterwards, the bull's ears and tail are cut off and thrown to the crowd. Horses are also victims, often being gutted, gored and killed.
By promoting bullfighting, Ebay's Stubhub is complicit in the continuation of the cruelty. As most locals in bullfighting countries no longer have any interest in bullfighting, it is in many cases the tourists who keep bullrings afloat. If ticket agents and travel companies stopped pushing tickets on tourists, it would surely spell the end for many bullrings.
