Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for signing this and supporting the Children’s Centre. They are aware of this petition and have seen some of your lovely comments which it mean a lot to the staff. If you haven’t already please, please, can you fill out the Thurrock Council consultation questionnaire on their proposed changes. It takes about 5mins and needs to be done before the 4th December. This is the link - https://www.thurrock.gov.uk/say/children You’ll notice there aren’t many references to Children’s Centres in the questions, so make use of the comments boxes to share your stories of how the centre has helped you personally. We need to show that there is a ‘need’ for the centre, that it’s making a difference to people. If you can, try to mention the building itself and the facilities there - toys, play kitchen, sandpit, garden - that wouldn’t be available if the service was run as ‘outreach’, e.g. at a library. And also the staff, who are trained to give advice and offer support and currently can be contacted 5 days a week.
