- About 5,000 people died in Mariupol due to Russian blockade and shelling, local authorities said. Among them, at least 210 children.
- Mayor Vadym Boichenko said about 160,000 civilians are still trapped in Mariupol without heat and power after weeks of Russian bombardment.
- 30,000 were deported to Russia or Russian-occupied parts of Donbas, 150000 left for Ukraine.
- Mariupol mayor Boichenko: 50% of Mariupol residents were ethnic Russians. They [Russian troops] are just killing everyone. This is genocide, there’s no other word for it.
- 90% of buildings in the port city had been damaged, and about 40% had been destroyed.
- “The situation in the city remains difficult. People are beyond the line of humanitarian catastrophe,” Boichenko said on national television. “We need to completely evacuate Mariupol.”
- Red Cross confirmed today that they still can't help people in Mariupol, as they as they need a guarantee of a ceasefire from Russia and Ukraine.
