As well as the points made in the Urgent Action, please write the following in your letter/email: • Grandpa Kamal is 76 years old and has spent over 1,750 days in Evin Prison since May 2011. • He gets no visitors. He is one of the oldest and loneliest prisoners in Iran. • He was deprived of any contact with his family in the UK for over 3 years and only gets short telephone calls since August 2014. • His family is very worried about his health and scared he will die soon in prison. He had his first full medical on 17 November 2015 (day 1,658!) and neither he nor his family have been provided with details of the tests performed or the results. • It would be a wonderful humanitarian gesture if Iran were to release Grandpa Kamal and allow him to spend his last years with his family in the UK. Amnesty International letter writing campaigns have been very successful in the past at freeing prisoners. With your support, maybe this will work with Grandpa Kamal.
