This petition aims to raise at least 30,000 signatures, the public profile of Dr Syed Kazmi and his battle for visa renewal. A doctor that would go out of his way for any staff or patient is facing a legal battle to remain while we struggle to staff the very ward that he is a part of.

This man contributes massively to our society and economy. Would a country like Australia rid themselves of such a commodity? When the NHS is as stretched as it is we should do all that we can to keep good and caring doctors like Syed.

As an NHS member of staff we should be aware that any of our colleagues could face the same challenges while we struggle with efficiency savings and safe staffing. It is noted that Parliament briefings show that for every 1,000 members of the NHS only 876 are British (Parliament, 2017). We must ask what would happen if we do not take a stand, who will replace our hard working colleagues? Help raise the issue at a national level!
