Hey, Dear Readers!
Here the third and final installment of my Exposed: Screwed By The System series of articles that tell you about my systematic consecutive sanctions from 2013 right up to the present day!
In the second installment of this series, you saw how Tricky Vicky was setting me up for what would result in a 28-day sanction. Now I am going to finish up with the last chapter...
NONCOOPERATIVE
Tricky Vicky did not want to withdraw her concern even though her line manager, Denial Delilah, bore witness to the fact that her concern was ill-founded. Tricky Vicky's line manager disappeared somewhere... The next thing I know, a general manager, Cowardly Andy, was telling me to fill in this UC70 or UC71 form in order to avoid a sanction. He was backing up what Tricky Vicky had told me even though this was contradictory to what the Service Centre operative had told me. Who to believe? So, I took the Service Centre operative's side. It stood to reason that if the Service Centre couldn't see that there was a possibility of a sanction then I am not going to fill in the form. What for?
REMEMBER, REMEMBER, THE 5th of NOVEMBER
I get a notification through my letterbox to state that because I missed an appointment with my work coax on the 28th of July 2016 I am to be sanctioned for a total of 13 days. But hang on... Didn't I sort that one out on the 3rd of August 2016??? Yes, I did! The Service Centre operative told me that I wasn't going to be sanctioned. I remember that one clearly because whenever I have to phone the Service Centre my closing question is, "Am I going to get sanctioned?" The answer has always been "no"! So, I wrote to the Service Centre with a Mandatory Reconsideration Notice and I figured that I would put in a notice over the "concern" that Tricky Vicky expressed because:
A. I was blindsided by the sanction notice for the 28th of July 2016; who could have seen that one coming??? And all the way in November 2016!
B. Knowing Tricky Vicky I figured she would have put the sanction through on the system by then. Put it this way, she never created a retraction notification on the system; I found this out when a Service Centre operative (a male for a change) and I was trying to get Tricky Vicky to make a retraction on the system and she wouldn't do it despite the fact that she and her line manager saw that I had done enough work activity. Her concern was premature and she did not wait for me to give my side of the equation before creating an official "concern".
Anyway, I have all the evidence that backs my version of this story... The only truth! Tricky Vicky is a liar to stick with the assertion that I did not do enough work activity.
THINGS THAT I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE LAST INSTALLMENT
One of the things that I forgot to mention was that Tricky Vicky asked me about my Vegan food business. She referred to it as "Vegetarian" - she can't even get that differentiation right! That seemingly small detail make such a huge difference! "Who does the cooking in your Vegetarian business?" To which I replied, "Me!" She then put it to me that I should put being a cook or chef on the list of job my ever expanding job goals. Truthfully, I was ahead of her and I had already been looking to into being a Vegan Chef or Cook. I didn't mind in the slightest and agreed to expand my job goals to include being a Vegan Chef/Cook. But I added a very important caveat, "I would need a certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene..." Oooh, she was a little flummoxed! She couldn't find me a Food Safety & Hygiene course when I was on the New Enterprise Allowance Scheme so, let's see her find one now!
The next thing I know I was at a college in North London taking an assessment test. I think it was on the 14th of November 2016 when I started the course on the same day I passed the assessment. But get this... The course was for 2 weeks with the Food Hygiene part of it taking up just ONE DAY! That's right! One day - including the exam! Because JCP Enfield has a tie with the college and could have left it to me and the college to work something out. Still, the Hospitality course was interesting and I would have done the course whilst on the NEA. It is always good to learn new things.
Really and truly, the Hospitality course was aimed at these types of people:
01. Mature people who may be suited to sitting out on reception.
02. Younger people who could possibly benefit from another vocational option; shift work could be ideal for young mothers.
03. People who, like me, wanted to go into the food business. I met a lovely French lady who has a fantastic idea for a catering business who was looking at self-employment.
There you go! Anyway, Tricky Vicky had it in mind to add customer bloody services to my job goals. I told her that the course did not fill me with confidence that I would be ideal for that line of work.
WORK COAX TASKS
Because my current CV is geared towards Graphic & Multimedia Design and Social Media Marketing I had the idea to work on a special presentation for the purpose of getting a job as a Vegan Chef/Cook. However, Tricky Vicky gets the idea that I should do a CV for not only the purpose of being a Vegan Chef/Cook but in bloody customer services! I tried telling Tricky Vicky that the Vegan Chef CV isn't going to work because I only have one job that I did in the late 80s as a Salad Chef. Plus, I have never worked in customer services. I told her this!
So, when my 28-day sanction came through I had to claim the freaking HardShit Fund. And because I spent time trying to borrow some money and to delay some bill payments I didn't get the HardShit Fund the first time around. I was told that because I didn't do Tricky Vicky's stupid tasks - including creating a LinkedIn account that I didn't qualify for the HardShit Fund - despite sending the line-manager the CVs and a link to the LinkedIn account! That's the kind of sick people we are dealing with!
NEW WORK COAX
When I met my new work coax for the first time, she mentioned straightaway that my CVs were crap! And this is what I was trying to tell Tricky Vicky! I can't make CVs out of job titles that I haven't done. I was right all along.
The line manager, who I have dubbed "Denial Delilah" should have intervened to have Tricky Vicky's outstanding tasks quashed. She should have accepted my CVs and LinkedIn link, instead, I got a rather shitty email from her to state that I should have done those tasks when they were asked of me. These people do not care! She should be fired along with her pal, Tricky Vicky!
Even when I am taking the fight to my work coax to show them that I know what I am doing and need to do to get a job they still insist upon getting in my way!
My new work coax, like the dude in the National Careers Service, was quick to spot that I should consider being self-employment. How Tricky Vicky couldn't see it, I just don't know. This makes me very, very suspicious that there IS something on the system regarding me and self-employment!
Something is definitely wrong the DWP/JCP/Universal Credit/Tax Credits Office... Something is very, very wrong!
IN CLOSING
There's quite a bit more to it but it would make the articles way too long!
Not only am I writing this to show people what has happened to me and how I am dealing with it, it's to create a library of my experiences that I will use in the preparation for my defence. I intend to fight this and take it as high as I possibly can!
Right! Food calls! I hope to write the article on: Preparing For Your Tribunal: How To Give Yourself the Best Possible Chance of Winning.
I can see that I have to work on the title! LMAO! Catch you on the next one! In the meantime, keep reading and sharing!
Thank you! :D
