Easter is one of the toughest holidays for rabbit rescues and rescuers. Unfortunately rescues get inundated with requests for adoption specifically for the Easter season. Many children find rabbits adorable and want the Easter Bunny to leave them a companion.
Unfortunately shortly after Easter, the family finds out that Bunny is more hassle than they expected, and they are left to fend for themselves after being dumped in a park, or rescues and local shelters are flooded with unwanted "Easter Bunnies".
Let's put a stop to this, many pet stores are not amping up sales on rabbits and keeping higher levels of stock. Let's champion rescues and adoptions as there are many unwanted bunnies in care at the moment. By doing this we ensure proper adoptions, and potential clients get educated on the proper care of bunnies. At this point, we need to put a stop to pet stores selling rabbits, especially during the Easter Season.
