The Issue

Kassala is the capital of the state of Kassala in eastern Sudan. Its 2008 population was recorded to be 419,030. Built on the banks of the Gash River,

Kassala State ha been reported by chikungunya disease.

Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. It causes fever and severe joint pain, which is often debilitating. Other symptoms include muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue, and rash.

The disease can be misdiagnosed in areas where they are common. As there is no cure, treatment is focused on relieving the symptoms. Sudan government refused to provide them with treatments and medicines and not recognition kassala state had been infested with Chikungunya.
Health authorities in Kassala announced at least 9,300 people in the state are affected by chikungunya disease and only Ten patients died but activists however say that that the number of deaths lies between 100 and 150 people and kassala in critical conditions nowadays.
