Update by Abby Larson (Founder) @Abbydlarson "An update for all of you incredible people who have been supporting us so beautifully this past week. I had a great call with @OATH today. I appealed to them in a way that represents the depth of what is included in the 12 years of content and the goal of simply finding a way to preserve that for the vendors and the brides and everyone else who has loved the site for so long. They were incredibly receptive and kind and while I’m not going to count my chickens just yet, I feel like we made real headway. The clock is ticking though so I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that the forward movement continues!! I know a lot of you have asked WHY this has happened. I, unfortunately, don’t have a great answer for you. There have been a ton of changes over at OATH and I think that it’s been hard to manage what is essentially a micro brand to their larger portfolio. The world has also changed. Content is consumed differently. And a large corporation like OATH has to adapt which might mean that they don’t have the resources anymore to put into a site like SMP. Again, this is all a guess as I really don’t have a great answer. I can guarantee you that it had nothing to do with the amazing team that has been running the brand or the incredible content from all of you that has helped it to become so important in this industry. I’ll make sure to keep everyone updated as things progress. An ENORMOUS thank you to everyone who has offered to help, every brand that has stepped forward and reached out, every vendor that has contributed to the #savesmp campaign, every person that has signed the petition that @kayenglishphotography started.
