The Lion King profits to protect vulnerable animals

The Lion King profits to protect vulnerable animals
The Issue
Disney have just released their trailer for the new Lion King movie. Whilst this looks incredible, there is a chance that this could be used not just for entertainment, but also to help the planet survive well into the furture...
Just last month, the UN released a report, stating how the world has 12 years left to make a change before climate change becomes irreversible. Furthermore, the recent banning of the Christmas Advert from UK supermarket 'Iceland' highlighted the plight of many organisms (such as the Orang-utan) against deforestation and the palm oil trade, with many species facing becoming endangered or extinct. Both of these crises can be solved by protecting the biodiversity of natural life on the planet. The diversity of organisms do much more than simply being the feature of zoos and story books - the help us to produce the food we eat, clean the water we drink, control the spread of disease amongst many other things. But we are threatened if we lose this - in the last "Living Planet Report" issued by the WWF in 2016, it has been estimated there has been a loss on average of 58% of global biodiversity since 1970. This is on par with the levels of extinction seen when the dinosaurs disappeared.
I've created this petition with a simple mission - to rally the Walt Disney Company into considering donating some of the profits from their live action remake of "The Lion Ling" (to be released in 2019) to an organisation that protects global biodiversity and the organisms upon which we rely. This is an issue we all have to tackle together, to protect our beautiful planet into the future, but cannot be done without us all helping out.
