Pirates of the Caribbean first opened at Disneyland in 1967 and was the largest Audio-Animatronic project to date and the last attraction in which Walt Disney had involvement in the design. 

So why 50 years later does Disney want to make a major change and remove the Redhead scene?  According to news reports this is due to making the ride more Politically Correct.
