At the end of the second film in the National Treasure series, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, protagonist Ben Gates, played by the estimable Nicolas Cage, has a conversation with the President.  The President alludes to page 47 in the presidential book of secrets, and Gates promises to investigate.  This closing shot obviously implies a sequel, yet 11 whole years after the movie was released, there is no sign of National Treasure 3.  Disney has kept the National Treasure fanbase in the dark for far too long.  It is time something is done about it.

This petition demands the immediate commencement of work on the third National Treasure movie.  This franchise is a beloved, enthralling, and historically accurate representation of the heroic and valiant work of Ben Gates.  These movies instill a sense of patriotism, valor, and pride in the hearts of all Americans, and it is time to continue that tradition.  Nicholas Cage, America's most renowned actor, deserves a chance to reprise his role and showcase his masterful talent.  In short, this nothing less than a national emergency.  It has been 11 long years since we have been graced by a National Treasure film.  Let's change that!
