I am very proud of the City of Carmel and I would like to express my gratitude to Mayor Brainard, City Council members, Board of Zoning Appeals, legal counsel, the Director of Community Services and all of the public servants who have been supportive and listened to us! Last but not least, I would like to thank to our tireless neighbors who spend imense effort in order to protect our community and to all of you who signed this petition! We can celebrate victory! From now on, a 500 feet setback from any residential area will apply as a standard to any gas station being planned in the City of Carmel or in the Village of WestClay. While this does not ban gas stations, in effect, there will be no gas station being built in the Village of WestClay in the foreseeable future.
