On Saturday December 2nd, I am planning a very important event in conjunction with a larger bargaining strategy.

The GTAA will be turning 27 years old on that day and I will formally be thanking the GTAA for the Living Wage expectation statement that’s in its new governing Rules and Regulations; the Pearson Standard.

All IAM groups that are heading to bargaining tables either now or in the near future, are being canvassed to show support and attend. This includes British Airways, SkyCafe, Garda Access, Garda Screeners, Menzies Cargo, Menzies Aviation, Dexterra, TBH and others).

We are seeking members to stand beside each other for a period of time, holding up signs that will be provided, so the passengers see them as they enter the terminal. The signs will show what it costs to pay the bills and survive in the Greater Toronto Area along with the wage rates that are expected by employers at YYZ. 

NOTE: You cannot use, of have visible your RAIC when participating at the event.

In order for this event to be planned properly, I will need an idea of how many people will attend.

NOTE: Attending means that you can commit a reasonable amount of time during a 3 hour window (12:00 to 15:00).

Additionally, for safety and security purposes, the GTAA will need to know an estimated number of people that will be attending to ensure it is hosted properly.

We need numbers of workers, not words.
