An application for 2,500 HOUSES ON THE REST OF WICKLESHAM FARM is waiting in the wings- and if planning permission is granted for a huge development ON TOP OF Wicklesham Quarry SSSI – 2,500 HOUSES are NEXT ON THE LIST OF THESE PREDATORY DEVELOPERS.
2,500 HOUSES WOULD DOUBLE THE SIZE OF FARINGDON SOUTH OF THE A420, and DESTROY A LARGE PART OF THE MIDVALE RIDGE. DON’T LET IT HAPPEN! (See the link below for details)

The fight to Protect Wicklesham Quarry from Development has been going on for twelve years (with a 5 year break in the middle). We MUST come together as a group NOW -It is the critical moment of the whole campaign.

If we FAIL TO ACT and seize the moment, our collective efforts over the past 12 years will have been wasted.
LOOK WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED!
Our High Court action in 2017 resulted in a ruling AGAINST Faringdon neighbourhood plan policy 4.5B. The Court ruled that the policy was ‘UNARGUABLY IN CONFLICT’ with Local Plan policies and was in breach of:
‘Paragraph 8(2)(e) of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act that the making of the plan was in general conformity with the strategic policies contained in the development plan.’
In other words – IT FAILED TO MEET THE BASIC CONDITIONS, and the High Court ruled AGAINST the District Council on the ground.
Oxfordshire County Council Planning Committee’s Resolution to Approve on 19 January was based on a flawed Report: missing planning history, an inaccurate account of the Judicial Review, flawed application of the development plan, withholding of Natural England’s advice and of objections by the Geological Society and the Paleontological Association, failure to take account of harmful impacts on the Midvale Ridge, and NO MANDATORY ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTS.
