A response to my email saying "DO NOT REDACT ME!" from Oxfordshire County Council states "It is not clear what the purpose of publishing the names online would be". 

So LET'S MAKE IT CLEAR! Please help me by sending the following email to: E&PDirectorsCorrespondence@Oxfordshire.gov.uk

 Subject: Transparency in Planning Consultation on Wicklesham Quarry

Dear Oxfordshire County County Council,

I request that ALL comments submitted by the public and ALL names and addresses of respondents in the planning consultation on MW.0151/23, Wicklesham Quarry,  including mine, be shown on your website without delay, with comments linked to names and addresses. This is your legal duty. Your e-planning website clearly states: "In accordance with national legislation and guidance, the names and addresses of applicants and agents and those making comments and representations on planning applications will appear on our website."

However, in recent statements you have stated you do not believe you have a legal requirement "to publish representations on a planning application"; do not see "the purpose of publishing names and addresses"; and intend to "remove all personal details", IF you decide to publish any representations from the public at all.  I absolutely disagree with all these assertions. The public has a legal right to a fully transparent planning process - as your own website makes clear!

Local residents, District and County Councillors will be looking carefully, not only at the comments themselves, but for answers to the following questions- which can only be seen in the connections between comments, names and addresses:

• How many Faringdon residents object to the planning proposal and how many support it?
• How many Faringdon residents reject the Neighbourhood Plan Policy on which the applicant relies?
• How many supporters of the proposal have vested interests in it?
• How many Faringdon Town Councillors have objected to the proposal under their own names?
• Which locally elected representatives support the proposal and which object to it?

These extremely important questions can only be answered through a fully transparent planning process. I do not believe that any continuation of this planning process will be lawful unless you comply fully and without delay with the obligations stated on your e-planning website. 

Please let me know what you intend to do as soon as possible.
