The High Court stated that the 5 year Aftercare Scheme, returning Wicklesham Quarry to agricultural use, must be upheld. It further ruled that the policy is unlawful, since it is in conflict with the Local Plan, and that it failed to have regard to national policy. Faringdon Council was wrong in its belief that Wicklesham Quarry was a 'brown field site'. In spite of this, the judge failed to quash the plan, and we have paid adverse costs of £5,000 from our fund of £15,000.
